PIC SPECIAL: Scoil Bhríde, Convoy pupils eat smart and get active

A special day of activity at Donegal school

On Monday last as part of the Healthy Ireland ‘Eat smart, move more’ initiative, the Active School committee at Scoil Bhríde, Convoy launched their Irish Heart Foundation ‘Let’s Get Active Award'.
This challenge lasts for four weeks. It involves encouraging the children to get active for 60 minutes per day and inviting them to try new physical activities.
The school is taking part in this initiative alongside the Board Bia ‘Food Dudes’ programme which promotes healthy eating.
Local sporting heroes and enthusiasts Michael Murphy, Danny Ryan, James Donaghy, Packey Mailey and Ciara Gallagher were in attendance, as well as recent past pupils Codie Walsh, Ellie Barron and Oisin Toye, who have all made it to the top of their respective chosen sports.
Donegal piper Christy Murray kindly provided music on the day to add to this very worthwhile and enjoyable event.

As you can see from our gallery of pics, the children really enjoyed their day!
