Well used to playing concerts in every corner of the globe Daniel O’Donnell made a return to the maple floor last night in Glenties at the refurbished Limelight where well over a thousand people from all ages joined him and his guests in a very worthwhile fundraising dance.
Daniel told the DPP/Democrat, “This is for a really great cause. A number of years ago Mickey Joe McMonagle was in a very serious accident, one of the nicest young fellas you could meet and he had been undergoing rehabilitation ever since.
“The local community Dungloe, Leitir, Doochary, Glenties, Ardara to name but a few, have been unbelievably generous. They are a credit to our county.”
Indeed Daniel himself, along with Gary Gamble, Grainne Gavigan, Patricia Maguire and Conor O’Donnell also did us all proud with a great night’s entertainment. Even if you were not a fan of country music you couldn't help but enjoy it. It was one of those “feelgood” nights.
Daniel joked: “It’s been a long time since I uttered the word “Next dance please” or “Let’s take a little break and slow it down” but it was really great - a real throwback to the days of St. Dominic’s Hall. Sure you never know what the future might bring!”
