Deele College students have made it to the Junk Kouture Dublin City finals in March.

The two entries, ‘Siren Song’ and ‘What Lies Beneath’, will be brought to the Finals in Dublin for a chance to win the competition.

‘Siren Song’ created by Niamh Byrne and Zara Doherty is composed of crushed cans, muscle shells, loofahs, and old fabric from curtains.

‘What Lies Beneath’ by John Ryan, Freya Hamilton, and Tori Smyth is made of sea shells, pool noodles, a painted umbrella, loofahs, and second-hand fabrics.

Both entries represent sustainable development goals, which is clear in their designs.

The Junk Kouture Festival of Creativity and Circularity is coming to Dublin on March 3 and 4, 2025. The event is hosted at The Helix in the heart of the Dublin City University Campus, the inspiring two days will culminate with the Junk Kouture World Final on Tuesday, March 4, a live event showcasing the incredible talent of students from Ireland and across the globe.
