The Friel Sisters

The Friel Sisters are set to bring the sound of Donegal tradition to The Irish Cultural Centre Hammersmith, London, for a very special St Brigid’s Day concert.

Anna, Sheila and Clare Friel are young traditional musicians born and brought up in Glasgow, Scotland with their family roots firmly entrenched in Doire na Mainsear in the Donegal Gaeltacht.

They play a mixture of music interspersed with songs in English and Irish, many from their family repertoire. Being siblings, they achieve a close blend on fiddle, flute and uilleann pipes.

With two albums, international touring, and performances alongside Altan, The Chieftains, Lúnasa and Sharon Shannon, their reputation speaks for itself. Clare Friel is also the TG4 Young Musician of the Year (Ceoltóir Óg na Bliana).

The Friel Sisters will be joined by Marty Barry on guitar and Cathal Ó Curráin from Gaoth Dobhair on bouzouki. Cathal won the RTÉ Folk Award for Best Emerging Artist 2022.
