Jedward mania struck Donegal town on Saturday morning with people queuing from 7am to get their hands on tickets for the Lucan twins’ show in Donegal town which will be held on June 30th as the centre piece of the Donegal Summerfest.
Parents and friends gathered on a cold damp Saturday morning from all parts of the county outside the Abbey Hotel where the tickets, priced at £7.50 went on sale at 9am.
By 12 noon 2,500 tickets had been sold at the hotel or via phone calls where credit card bookings were taken.
Owen Doherty of the Festival committee told Donegal On Sunday “this is incredible, we have people coming from all arts and parts and buying multiple numbers of tickets. We have sold more than half of the tickets this morning and it looks like the rest of them will fly as well.”
One happy ticket buyer from Glencolmcille told our reporter: “I have six tickets with me, that will keep the nieces and nephews happy, I think they are really going to love this concert and I can’t believe the tickets are just €7.50. We left home at 6am but it was worth it, there will be smiles in Glencolmcille tonight.”
