Dark Daughter Productions, the company behind the hugely successful ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ Pantomime in Ballyshannon last December, is at it again. The latest offiering is ‘Deckchairs iii’, a trio of coming plays, for three nights only, Wednesday, April 25 to Friday, April 27.
‘Deckchairs iii’ by Jean McConnell, is a set of three One Act plays, Cupbpoard Love, Last Post and Cruise Missile. Each of the comedies lasts about 20 minutes, has a twist and a tale and is based on familiar themes that many of us can relate to. All three plays are very comic, fast-pasted light entertainment with many a laugh.
‘Deckchairs iii’ features actresses Regina Faghy, Roisin Lee Fox, Emer McShea, Mary Hoey, Isobel Cleary and Geraldine Daly. Regina is new to the group but the other actresses performed in the abstract theatre piece ‘The Cage Birds’ last year.
Director Maura Logue wishes to acknowledge the funding support from Donegal VEC Community Education programme for this ‘Women as Actors’ project, bringing ‘Deckchairs’ to the stage.
The production team also includes: assistant director Joan McGrath, stage managers Edel McNally Linda Gallagher, costumes Ger McGrath, lighting Martin Ferris on lighting and sound Gareth Ferguson.
The plays will be performed in the intimate Theatre 3, at the Abbey Arts Centre. Curtain up 8.30pm.
Booking on 071 985 1375. Active Age Group rates available for Wednesday night’s preview performance.
