This Friday night, April 27, Dunlewey Theatre will host a special performance of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet by the Cloughaneely Players.
Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatises the revenge Prince Hamlet exacts on his uncle Claudius for his murder.
If you have ever been intrigued as to why this play about a Prince of Denmark should be considered “probably the greatest play ever written”, then you now have the opportunity to see it with a ‘Cloughaneely players twist’ in all its gory glory!
The play vividly portrays both true and feigned madness – from overwhelming grief to seething rage – and explores themes of treachery, revenge, incest, and moral corruption.
Admission is €10 adults and students €5 on the door. All proceeds will go to help in the promotion of youth activities in Dunlewey.
