A basic map and compass skills course, hosted by Donegal based members of the Defence Forces, will take place at the county museum in Letterkenny this Saturday.
Basic navigation skills are essential when it comes to enjoying the great outdoors.
Defence Force Personnel from the 28 Inf Battalion ‘C’ Coy will be in the Donegal County Museum on Saturday 25th May 2013 from 2pm to 3.30pm to help provide the basic elements and principles of map and compass use which may help you walk to safety, should you find yourself out after dark or suddenly disorientated by a change in weather. They will also provide general safety advice and what is the essential equipment whether you are a novice or experienced walker. Admission is free but places are limited.
