Elsa Moore will continue her athletic career in Louisiana
A Donegal athlete has won a full scholarship to continue her studies and athletic training in the US, starting in August.
McNeese State University has granted Elsa Moore of Lifford Strabane AC a full scholarship, earning the young athlete an opportunity of a lifetime. She will be studying Animal Science in Agriculture alongside her athletic training.
Moore is a talented athlete who competes frequently in middle-distance running and cross-country events. In March, she came second in the All-Ireland Senior Schools Cross Country Championships and has represented Ulster in prominent race events.

Her school, The Royal and Prior Comprehensive in Raphoe, wrote an online statement which read: “Everybody at the Royal and Prior would like to congratulate our student Elsa Moore on her recent good news.
“This is an amazing opportunity for Elsa to pursue Athletics and Academics in one school.”
McNeese State University is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, a two-hour drive from Houston, Texas. The college was established in 1939, and its athletic programmes are certified for the highest level of college competition in the United States.
