Mark English is now looking forward to the World Championships in Tokyo next weekend
Mark English claimed a superb victory at a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meet in China on Sunday winning the men’s 800m in 1:44.67.
The Finn Valley AC athlete produced a trademark late surge to edge out Spain’s Pablo Sanchez (1:44.79) and Kenya’s Wyclife Kinyamal (1:44.86).

English’s win adds another major international triumph to his impressive career, underlining his status among Europe’s leading 800m runners.
He quickly turns attention towards the World Championships next week in Tokyo.
English recently spent a number of weeks at altitude in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and is hopefully peaking at just the right time and he looks to make it through to the World final there.
