Kay Byrne and Catriona Devine are part of the team who will represent Ireland at the European Masters Athletics Championships
A total of five masters athletes from Donegal will represent Ireland at the European Masters Athletics Championships in Portugal over the next week and a half.
Finn Valley duo Kay Byrne and Catriona Devine, Milford’s Brian Boyce, Aidan Gillespie of Rosses AC and Shane Toolan from Tír Chonaill AC will all don the green jersey as they are part of a 134-strong Irish squad.
Byrne will have a very busy schedule as she will compete in the W60 10km road race, the Half Marathon road race, the 5,000m, and the 8km cross country.
Devine goes in the W50 1500m, while Boyce has entries in the M45 200m and 400m.

Gillespie has a sole entry in the M50 100m Hurdles, while Toolan will compete in the M65 100m and 200m.
The competition will begin on Thursday, October 9 until Sunday, October 19, in Madeira.
