Andy Scanlon and Joe Carlin
The Annual Run and Walk for Joe Carlin and Andy Scanlon takes place on New Year’s Day in Killygordon.
First taking place on New Year’s Day in 2023, this year's 5K walk-run will again take place at 12 noon on January 1, starting and finishing at the CAKE Centre, Killygordon.
Organised by friends and family, the event supports youth development at Curragh Athletic Football Club, Markievicz Camogie Club, Red Hughs GAA, Setanta Hurling Club, and the Three Rivers Badminton Club, Killygordon.
“This is a chance to start the New Year with Joe and Andy in mind while supporting local youth,” said one of the organisers, Declan Carlin.

The route is designed for a leisurely walk or run, with free entry (donations only), and every participant registered will be entered into a free draw with some excellent prizes on offer.

It’s a great way to start out the New Year to fittingly remember two men who gave so much time and effort to a number of the local sports clubs in the area.
Registration opens at 11am at the CAKE Centre, where tea, refreshments, and a raffle with hampers and vouchers will follow.
Ample parking is available at the CAKE Centre, Dromore School, and car parks in Crossroads.
Donations can be made in advance via Revolut.
