Lauren Callaghan set a new Ulster and Donegal indoor long jump record in Glasgow on Saturday evening.
The Finn Valley AC athlete jumped out to 6.40m at the Scottish Indoor Championships.
Callaghan topped the charts at the Emirates Arena when going to 6.40m on her second visit to the board.
The Killygordon woman, who won Irish senior golds indoors and outdoors in 2025, has started 2026 with real purpose.
Just eight days previously in France, competing at Meeting de Nantes Metropole, Callaghan touched the sand at 6.34m, taking out her previous indoor PB of 6.24m from 2023.
Callaghan, who is coached by Paul Wilkinson, is fourth on the all-time Irish list now with Ruby Millet’s 6.44m the next rung on the ladder. Her latest record is the best jump by an Irish athlete so far in 2026.
