Twin Towns boxer Caoimhin Connolly
Donegal boxers have learned their fate for the National U19 Championships, which glove off at the National Stadium this week.
Over 130 boxers will contest the championships with five from Donegal in the mix and boxing to take place over the next three weekends.
Twin Towns’ busy Caoimhin Connolly won the national youth 48kgs title in January when beating Kurt Kinsella at the National Stadium.
Connolly will open up in the 50kgs division on Friday at the U19s with a bout against Ben Millar of the Fermanagh-based Erne Boxing Club.
The winner from the Connolly-Millar fight will meet Kildare’s Anthony Cash in a quarter-final.
Gary McNamara of Raphoe BC will go up against Calvin Doyle from the Team Doyle Boxing Club in a 60kgs quarter-final.
At 65kgs, Derryveagh Boxing Club ace David Tennyson will battle with James Keating of Sacred Heart in a preliminary bout.
