Dunfanaghy Boxing Club staged a knockout night at the Ozanam Centre in Dunfanaghy on Saturday night.

Fireworks sparked in the vicinity while 15 top-drawer contests were fought in the arena.

Dunfanaghy hosted a Dublin Select and won by nine bouts to six.

The late locals on the bill impressed with Owen O’Donnell, Conor Durning and Jack Boyle claiming fine wins in the latter bouts.

O’Donnell stopped Shane Dixon in the second round of their contest. O’Donnell landed some powerful blows before Dixon visited the canvas and made an early exit.

Durning, the Irish Youth 2 57kgs champion in 2023, defeated Chris McCabe via a unanimous decision in a clash that had the big crowds on its feet and Boyle also claimed a clean sweep from the judges against Alex McCabe in the final fight of the night.

Shaun Doohan, the just-crowned Irish U17 80kgs champion, had to sit out as he travelled to Dublin for Irish squad training, with Boyle capably stepping in.

Irish champ Carys McFadden lost out to Alanna Berry while guesting boxers David Tennyson (Derryveagh) and Killian Caldwell (Carrigart) recorded victories for the home team.
