Dungloe Boxing Club’s Ellis O’Donnell punched her way to an Irish final at the weekend.

O’Donnell booked her place in the Junior 1 57kgs final.

The west Donegal teenager defeated Ellis Bell Carthy and will now duck through the ropes of the National Stadium for the final.

O’Donnell had her hand raised after taking a 4-1 split decision and will clash with Bernadette Delaney from Tipperary Town in the decider.

She will join her fellow Dungloe boxer Aleshia Mullis-Boyle, who will be in the Youth 2 66kgs final.

Last year, Mullis-Boyle won Youth 1, Senior Cadet and U17 Irish titles.

Mullis-Boyle will face Grace Bailey from Castlebar in the final after she overcame Clonmel boxer Kaysie Joyce at the weekend.

St Bridget’s, Clonmany’s Patrick McDaid will go on to the Boy 4 75kgs final after being handed a walkover while 2025 European gold medalist Roisin Hegarty also received a walkover this weekend.

Carys McFadden, a two-time Irish champion last year, was beaten by Louise Joyce in a Junior 2 58kgs semi-final.

Dunfanaghy Boxing Club’s McFadden lost out on a unanimous decision.

Her Dunfanaghy BC colleague Odhran McCarry lost on a UD to Coen Kane from Holy Trinity in a Junior 2 quarter-final at 52kgs.

St John Bosco’s Noah Gallagher, still very much learning his trade and with barely a handful of fights behind him, took to the ring in a Junior 1 semi-final. Gallagher lost out to Oughterard’s Peter Lee in the 42kgs contest.

Blake O’Carroll of Twin Towns, another recent convert to the sport, lost out to James O’Donoghue from Togher in a Junior 1 quarter-final at 54kgs.

Colum Callaghan of Carndonagh and Andrew McLaughlin from Illies Golden Gloves fell in Junior 1 quarter-finals at 60kgs and 66kgs to Christy Joyce (Olympic) and Michael Mullaney (Claremorris).

Letterkenny BC’s Isla Larkin lost out to Dealgan’s Daisy Kiernan in a Junior 1 54kgs quarter-final.

St Bridget’s Tyler McGonigle was on the wrong end of a UD against Dylan Corcoran (Titans) in a Boy 4 63kgs semi-final and his club mate Rowan Doherty lost a 4-1 split to Freddie Dempsey (South East) in a Boy 4 quarter-final.
