St Bridget's BC members at the Ulster finals
The National Boy-Girl 1, 2, 3 Championships will glove off on Easter Monday - and Donegal will be well represented after the Ulster finals on Sunday.
The Ulster finals took place on Sunday in the Newry Leisure Centre with seven Donegal winners in the ring and several more taking titles via walkover.
Sunday was a big day for the St Bridget’s BC in Clonmany with a hat-trick of wins.
St Bridget’s, Clonmany puncher Shay Devlin saw off Ryan McNulty (Cookstown) to take the honours in the Boy 2 54kgs final.
Conor Glackin, also of St Bridget’s, claimed a unanimous deicision to win the Boy 2 44.5kgs final with Carrickmore’s John McDonagh.
Leah McGonagle made it a hat-trick of wins for St Bridget’s with a superb stoppage win in the Girl 1 37kgs final.
Pearse McKinney won the Boy 3 59kgs title. McKinney overcame Sean McParland of St Malachy’s, the Letterkenny BC lad taking a 4-1 split decision.
Raphoe Boxing Club’s Hanna Lee Peoples stopped Nicole Smith from Dungannon in the third round of the Girl 3 53kgs final.

Twin Towns BC’s Aoife Gillespie overcame Fiedhna Rose O’Neill to win the Girl 2 43kgs final. Gillespie earned a unanimous decision.
Donegal’s newest boxing club, Annagry BC, were celebrating as Fionnan Breathnach saw off Niall Og Nugent from the Sean Doran BC to take the Boy 1 35kgs title back to west Donegal.
Ther were walkover wins for: Tegan McCarron (Carrigart, Girl 3 75+kgs); Isla McShane (St John Bosco, Girl 3 47kgs); Sara Tennyson (Derryveagh, Girl 3 49kgs); Katelynn O’Donell (Dungloe, Girl 2 57kgs); Caolan Keenan (Twin Towns, Boy 2 43kgs); Martin McCarthy (Letterkenny, Boy 2 46kgs); Poppy Doherty (Carndonagh, Girl 1 41kgs)
Darragh McGonigle of St Bridget’s, Clonmany lost out on a unanimous decision to Oscar Boyle from Ards in the Boy 3 52kgs final and his club-mate Keelan Kearney suffered a 4-1 split decision loss to Ethan McLaughlin (Star of the Sea) in the Boy 2 48kgs final.
Enya Logue was on the wrong end of a slender 3-2 split decision in the Girl 2 47kgs final, the spoils going to Camlough’s Emily O’Callaghan, while Tiernan McGill of Dungloe lost out to Barney Hutton (Cookstown) in the Boy 3 44.5kgs final.
Aoibhinn Gillespie from Twin Towns BC suffered a UD defeat to Saoirse Hughes (Camlough) in the Girl 3 43kgs final, while Wacky Connors of Letterkenny BC lost out to Eoghan Rua Mullin from Cookstown, who took a 4-1 split decision in the Boy 1 37kgs decider.

Carndonagh’s Jayden Hegarty was stopped by Cody Duffy (Culoville) in the Boy 1 38.5kgs, and fellow Carn boxer Koa O’Neill lost to Joey Farrell (Dukes) in the Boy 1 31kgs final.
The Girl 1 35kgs final was won by Ameila Markey (Muckno) who defeated Aoife Hegarty (illies Golden Gloves).
