#BuyDonegal is a huge advantage to businesses in the county

A Cnoc Fola-based councillor has said that #BuyDonegal is hugely beneficial to the county and is increasing its reach on an annual basis. The campaign #BuyDonegal is an initiative by Donegal County Council which was established a number of years ago to promote businesses from the county across a global platform. 

Speaking at a recent Glenties Municipal District meeting in Dungloe, Sinn Féin Councillor John Shéamais Ó Fearraigh said that this year over 350 companies participated in the initiative and the campaign reached over 7.5million people on a global scale.

“It is terrible to see people soaking wet standing there and waiting on a bus and then having  to sit there for an hour,” Sinn Féin Councillor Marie Therese Gallagher.  

Cllr Ó Fearraigh said: “If you look at the reach the campaign had it is outstanding. It reached 7.5million people across the world. That is hugely impressive and beneficial to this area.”

Almost 100 per cent of businesses, who provided campaign feedback, stated a willingness to participate in a future such campaign.

“It is a huge advantage to businesses in the county. Businesses in the county can sell their ware in the same manner as Amazon and Google do. I hope it continues to increase each year,” he said.
