Mickalene's will close on Sunday
The owners of Mickalene’s Gastropub in Ardara have announced the closure of their business due to the challenges of the industry.
They took to social media to share the sad news, saying: “It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that, on Sunday, October 13, Mickalene's will close its doors for the very last time.
“Unfortunately, with the difficulties facing the hospitality industry at the moment and spiralling costs, it has simply become unsustainable for us to continue.
“We've had a blast over the last six years and made some truly lifelong friends along the way as well as some very fond memories to take with us.
“We would like to thank everyone for your support and custom over the years.”
The owners have appealed to local businesses to consider employing staff members who now face unemployment.
“If any local employers have any openings for some of our wonderful team members, please drop us an email on mickalenesgastropub@gmail.com and we'll pass it on to our staff,” they said.
“Mise le meas Michael, Charlene and all the staff.”
