The new venture offers self-guided hiking holidays along the Wild Atlantic Way, with tours focusing on Donegal's most dramatic landscapes
A Donegal family business has expanded its tourism offering with the launch of a new website offering self-guided hiking holidays in Donegal.
Séamus and Nóra Gallagher, who have operated the cycling tour company Ireland by Bike since 2010, have launched Hiking Holidays Ireland to meet growing demand from visitors looking to explore the county on foot. The company, based in Carrick at the foot of Sliabh Liag, is a family operation.

The new venture offers self-guided hiking holidays along the Wild Atlantic Way, with tours focusing on Donegal's most dramatic landscapes - including the Sliabh Liag cliffs, Mount Errigal, Muckish, and Glenveagh National Park.
"We're excited to invite visitors to discover Ireland's unspoiled and beautiful regions on foot," said Séamus Gallagher. "We know every hill, every mountain and every trail, and we've carefully selected the routes that showcase the very best of Donegal."
Visitors from around the world are welcome to explore Donegal's famous landscapes, with accommodation, luggage transfers, detailed route guides and 24-hour support included.
Tours range from a five-night single-centre package based in Carrick to a seven-night two-centre tour taking in both the Sliabh Liag peninsula and the Derryveagh Mountains.
With 15 years experience of offering quaility cycling holidays, and already having offered a very popular combined cycling and hiking holiday, along with and intimate knowledge of the local area, the company will now offer the same high quality package to visitors looking to experience the best of Donegal on foot.
The launch reflects growing interest in outdoor tourism in Donegal, with the county's growing reputation as a walking destination continuing to attract visitors from across Europe and beyond.
