EuroGiant has two stores in Letterkenny and one in Donegal Town
Donegal's three EuroGiant stores will trade during the process of a review of the company's store network takes place, after the company entered court-appointed liquidation this week.
On Wednesday, EuroGeneral Ltd and Bushgrove Ltd, which trade as EuroGiant, entered into liquidation. EuroGiant has two stores in Letterkenny and one in Donegal Town.
Judge Brian Cregan appointed Mark Degnan and Brendan O’Reilly of Interpath (Ireland) Ltd as provisional liquidators for EuroGeneral Retail Ltd and Bushgrove Ltd, the entities behind EuroGiant.

The companies reported combined losses of approximately €6.5 million as of late 2025 and were unable to pay their debts.
All 77 stores nationwide remain open and continue to trade as normal while the liquidators conduct a full review of the business to determine which locations are viable. The review by the liquidators will eventually decide whether individual stores are sold as going concerns or permanently closed. The case returns before the court next month.
“After more than 30 years of trading, the company has today entered court-appointed liquidation. Rising costs, including rent and day-to-day operating expenses, along with increased competition in the retail sector, mean the business is no longer viable in its current form," a spokesperson for the company said last week.
“All stores will remain open and continue trading as normal while a full review of the store network is carried out. Our thoughts are with the 640 staff affected, and we want to sincerely thank them for their hard work and commitment over many years.
