A man has appeared in court charged with a serious assault on a woman in Castlefin.
Alan Boland was brought before a special sitting of Letterkenny District Court on Sunday afternoon.
Boland, a 61-year-old with an address at Raphoe Road, Castlefin, was charged in connection with the incident, alleged to have taken place at that address on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
He was charged with assault causing harm to the woman.
Boland , who was represented by solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher, was granted bail on condition that he reside at another address, which was given to gardai.
He is allowed access to an exterior kitchen and dog kennels at the address in Castlefin, but must not enter the dwelling house.
Boland must not contact the alleged injured party in any way, either directly or indirectly, to include social media or otherwise and to be contactable on a mobile phone by gardai 24/7.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham remanded Boland on bail to October 21 for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
