Car stolen from Letterkenny housing estate recovered in Northern Ireland

Two cars were entered and items were stolen from within them during the same period of time in the Slieve Sneacht estate in Letterkenny in the early hours of last Tuesday

A car was stolen from a housing estate in Letterkenny last week while two other cars had items stolen from them..

The incidents occurred in the Slieve Sneacht early in the early hours of Tuesday, October 1 between approximately midnight and 12.30am.

Two cars were entered and items were stolen from within them. No damage was caused to the cars. 

A car was also stolen from the estate and was later recovered in Northern Ireland. A number of the stolen items were recovered also.

A Garda spokesperson said: “ We appeal to anybody who may have observed these incidents occur in the Slieve Sneacht area to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.

“If anybody was in the area around that time with a dash cam, we ask them to make the footage available to Gardaí. The Garda Confidential line may be reached on 1800 666 111. 

“We would like to remind all drivers to please ensure that their vehicle is locked at all times when unattended, regardless of whether it is parked in their driveway or in a public place. Do not keep cash or valuables in your vehicle.”
