Stove taken from vacant Downings home

The glass panel in the front door was smashed and entry was gained and a black Henley (non-boiler) stove was stolen from within the house

Gardai are investigating the burglary in Downings

A stove was stolen from a house in Downings last week.

Intruders gained entry to a vacant house in the Derrycassan area that is undergoing renovation.

The incident occurred sometime between 4pm on Saturday, March 8 and 9.30am on Thursday, March 13.

The glass panel in the front door was smashed and entry was gained. 

A black Henley (non-boiler) stove was stolen from within the house. 

A Garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to residents in that area to get in touch with Gardaí in Milford on 074-9153060 if they observed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area between those dates.

“Should anyone come across a similar type of stove for sale on a second hand basis, we ask them to alert Gardaí so we can check the matter out. The Garda Confidential line may be reached on 1800 666 111 with any relevant information also.”
