Gardai remain at the scene of an incident at a property in Lifford.
The incident occurred at around 11.30pm on Sunday at a house in the Cabhsa Cluain Lao area of the border town.
Officers responded to reports of what local sources indicate is being treated as an apparent aggravated burglary, but gardai say they are looking into “all of the circumstances” in the matter.
The front door of the property was forced open in the incident. A person was in the house at the time, but it is not clear if any injuries were sustained.
Graffiti was also daubed on the exterior of the property in the same incident.
Local gardai are continuing their enquiries and examining the scene.

A Garda spokesperson told Donegal Live: “Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding an incident at a residence in Lifford, Co Donegal, at approximately 11:30pm on Sunday, 13th April, 2025.”
Cabhsa Cluain Lao is a new development with tenants only receiving their keys in the weeks before Christmas.
In February, two front windows were smashed after stones were thrown at a property in the area.
