Man arrested as another man hospitalised following Dungloe incident

A man was arrested and another man was left in hospital following the incident

A man has been arrested following an incident in Dungloe that left another man hospitalised.

The incident occurred at around 1.30am on Saturday at Lower Main Street, Dungloe.

Gardai received a report of a public order incident and attended the scene.

A male in his 20s is reported to have been assaulted. The injured man was conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Another male in his 20s was later arrested nearby under the Public Order Act.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing.”
