The man has been fined for failing to pay for a parking ticket in Buncrana.
Failure to pay a parking ticket has landed a Buncrana man with a hefty bill in court.
Luke Lyons, of 7 Ard Na Greine, Buncrana, has been fined €150 and ordered to pay costs of €138 to Donegal County Council for the misdemeanour.
The defendant did not appear before Buncrana District Court to contest the evidence against him, which was heard by Judge Ciaran Liddy.
A Buncrana traffic warden told the court how she had been on duty at the Market Square in the town on the morning of February 28, 2025.
At 9.17am she observed a 2015-registered vehicle parked in a public place without a valid pay and display or prior electronic payment made.
At 9.49am the warden issued a fixed charge penalty notice and placed it behind the windscreen wipers of the vehicle, while taking photos for evidence.

The ticket was not paid however, and the matter progressed to court as a consequence.
Judge Liddy imposed a fine of €150 on Mr Lyons, with three months to pay. He also directed the Buncrana man to pay costs of €138 to Donegal County Council, which was represented in court by solicitor Donna Ferry.
The judge set recognisance at €100 cash in the event of an appeal against the outcome.
