A firework was ignited and set off in a letterbox in Ballybofey.
The incident occurred on Saturday at around 7:15pm in the Blue Cedars, Ballybofey. Two youths approached a house and placed an ignited firework in the letterbox.

“This is a very concerning incident,” Garda Grainne Doherty said. “Thankfully, the damage was not as bad as it very well could have been.
“We urge anyone who may have travelled within Blue Cedars on that date with a dash-cam between 7pm and 7.30pm, to get in touch with Gardaí in Ballyshannon on 071-9858530. If anyone has seen two youths on foot in that area on Saturday evening, or if they can assist with any relevant information, we ask them to please make contact with us. The Garda Confidential Line may be contacted on 1800 666 111.”
