The accussed with an address in Letterkenny appeared before Derry Magistrate's Court today
A man with an address in Letterkenny has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with assaulting a female and threatening to kill her.
David Gildea (44) of Chestnut Grove in Letterkenny appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court facing a charge of assaulting a female on November 16.
He was also charged with threatening to kill the same woman on the same date and both charges were said to be aggravated by domestic abuse.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges and said a way forward had been agreed upon.
He said that the defendant had been overnight charged as he resided in the Republic, but bail could be agreed if a cash sum was paid into the court.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that could be done.
Gilded was released on bail on condition he paid the cash sum, didn't enter a specific area of Derry and has no contact with the alleged injured party.
He will appear again on December 11.
