A Derry man has appeared in court charged with two assaults in Donegal.
Brian McClean was before Letterkenny District Court in connection with the alleged incidents on February 9, 2025 at Lifford Greyhound Stadium.
The 34-year-old, of Waterloo Place in Derry, faces two charges of assault causing harm.
McClean is charged with assaulting Catriona Roulston and Jonathan Roulston, causing them harm.
The charges are contrary to section 3 (1) and 3(2) of the Non-Fatal Offences against the Person Act 1997 (as amended by section 20 of the Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2023).
McClean was present in court for the brief mention of the matter before Judge Emile Daly.
Sergeant Jim Collins gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution by way of schedule.
Sergeant Collins said that the State will need to obtain directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and also a medical report.
McClean was represented by solicitor Mr Rory O’Brien, who told the court: “There is a complicated set of facts to say the least”.
The case was adjourned until February 2026 and legal aid was granted.
