Gardaí are investigating the incidents in Ballybofey
A car was stolen and another was found on fire after a “number of incidents” occurred in the area of the Beeches, Ballybofey.
The incidents occurred on Wednesday, November 26 at approximately 11:30pm. A red Peugeot is believed to have entered the estate around that time. Two men got out and caused damage to the door of an apartment in the estate. They also smashed the window. They then stole a black Audi, partial registration no. ‘161 DL 58’ from a neighbouring property and both vehicles exited the estate.
A short time later, at approximately 11:45pm, a report was received that a red Peugeot was on fire at Dreenan, Ballybofey. The fire services and Gardaí attended the scene.
“We appeal to anyone who may have witnessed these incidents to get in touch with us,” said a garda spokesperson. “We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have been in the area of The Beeches or Dreenan or any of the surrounding areas with a dash-cam between 11:15pm and midnight on that date.
