The driver was charged and court will follow

A disqualified driver who tried to leave the scene of a collision with another vehicle in Letterkenny last night was NINE times over the legal driving limit. 

Gardaí from Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit apprehended the driver last night in Letterkenny after they had left the scene of a collision involving another vehicle.

The driver, who was already disqualified from driving was then arrested on suspicion of drink driving, having failed a roadside breath test. Further breath testing showed that the driver was nine times over the legal limit. The car was seized and the owner must now apply to the Judge of the District Court to get it back. The driver was charged and court will follow.

"Never take unnecessary and dangerous risks where road safety is concerned," An Sarda Siochana said. "Never drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs...ever.
