A man has pleaded guilty to a burglary at SuperValu in Bundoran.

Brian Ward admitted the offence when he appeared before Donegal Circuit Court.

Ward, a 39-year-old of Oakgrove, Kinlough, Co Leitrim, pleaded guilty when he was formally arraigned before Judge John Aylmer.

Ward was charged in connection with an offence on December 14, 2021.

He was charged that he did enter SuperValu as a trespasser and committed an arrestable offence therein, namely theft. The charge is contrary to section 12 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001.

Ward, who is represented by barrister Mr Peter Nolan. BL, spoke only to plead guilty.

Judge Aylmer requested a probation report, to include suitability for community service, and the case was adjourned to the next sitting of the court.
