The driver was arrested and charged to appear in court
A motorist in Letterkenny was arrested and saw their car seized, having been clocked at 179kph.
Gardaí from Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit detected a vehicle travelling at on the Dual Carriageway in Letterkenny on Monday night.

The driver was arrested and charged to appear in court. The car was seized under Section 109(a) of the Road Traffic Act 1961. Under this legislation, in order to get your vehicle back, you must apply to the Judge of the District Court.
“As always, we remind all drivers that speed kills and to slow down,” An Garda Siochana warned.
