Three arrests after Donegal gardaí use stinger to stop vehicle stolen across the border

Three people are to appear in court after gardaí deployed a stinger device to stop a vehicle that had been stolen in Northern Ireland. 

Gardaí were alerted to the theft of a vehicle in Northern Ireland on Tuesday, January 27.

As part of a coordinated response between An Garda Síochana and the PSNI, patrols were conducted by Ballybofey gardaí, Donegal Town roads policing unit and the Garda armed support unit. 

The stolen vehicle in question was stopped later that day in the area of Spierstown, Donegal Town by gardaí following the deployment of the stinger device. 

The driver and two passengers were arrested and charged to appear in court in relation to a number of matters.
