A Buncrana man is to stand trial charged with assaulting two people during an incident in Letterkenny.
Kevin Grant is charged with two counts of assault causing harm on Main Street in Letterkenny on September 23, 2023.
Grant, aged 36 and from Hilltown in Buncrana, appeared at Letterkenny District Court.
Garda Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions had consented for the accused to be sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court commencing on May 5th.
Both Section 3 assaults were allegedly committed on the same date and at the same location against two different people.
Judge Emile Daly gave the accused man the alibi warning.
Legal aid was granted to the man's solicitor, Mr Frank Dorrian, and two counsel were assigned to the case.
Grant was released on bail with a number of conditions.
They include that he must not socialise in Letterkenny, must surrender his passport and must sign on at his local Garda station.
The case was adjourned to Letterkenny Circuit Court on May 5.
