'All registration plates must meet Irish format and visibility standards,' An Garda Siochana warned
Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit issued Fixed Charge Penalty Notices to a number of drivers yesterday in relation to non-conforming registration plates.
Non-conforming Irish registration plates include those that have custom or non-standard fonts, incorrect sizes, colours or spacing, no EU flag or IRL identifier and those that are designed to defeat ANPR systems.
"Drivers are reminded that each non-regulation, missing, or obscured plate can result in a €60 Fixed Charge Notice per plate," An Garda Siochana warned. "All registration plates must meet Irish format and visibility standards."
