The man appeared at Letterkenny District Court
A Stranorlar man caught drug-driving has been put off the road for a year.
Don Harkin (33), of Admiran Park, Stranorlar, appeared before Letterkenny District Court to face the charge.
Sergeant Sean McDaid said Harkin was stopped at a mandatory intoxication testing checkpoint.
Harkin tested positive for the presence of cannabis.
Solicitor Donough Cleary said his client, a father-of-two who is in a long term relationship, was asked by his brother to give him a lift to work.
“No good deed goes unpunished,” Mr Cleary said.
“He was stopped and was co-operative. He admitted cannabis use a few days beforehand. Otherwise, he is a man of good character.”
Judge Brendan O’Reilly fined Harkin €300 and disqualified him from driving for one year.
