Man fined after 121km/h speed detection

A man caught driving at 121km/h in Letterkenny has been fined in court.

Patrik Hlousek, 28, of Glencar Park, Letterkenny, was detected by Garda Marcus O’Dowd driving a Mercedes C Series at 121km/h at Dromore, Letterkenny.

The road in question is governed by a speed limit of 100km/h.

Gardai stopped the car and spoke to Hlousek, who produced a Slovakian licence.

A fixed charge penalty notice was issued, but was not paid.

Hlousek has one previous conviction for speeding, the court heard.

Judge Brendan O’Reilly convicted Hlousek and fined him €300.
