A 30-year-old man has been sent forward for trial charged with the sexual assault of a minor.
The man was before Letterkenny District Court on Monday.
The man cannot be named for legal reasons in order to protect the identity of the alleged victim in the case.
Garda Matthew Burke of Letterkenny Garda Station gave evidence of serving a book of evidence on the accused.
The defendant is charged with sexual assault at hotel in Letterkenny on a date in August 2020.
Sergeant Gerard Dalton told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has consented for the accused to be sent forward to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court, which begins on May 10.
The accused was present in court, but did not speak during the brief hearing.
Judge Brendan O’Reilly made a section 56 order in relation to tapes of interviews and administered the alibi warning.
Legal aid was granted to solicitor Mr Gordon Curley and one junior counsel was assigned.
