Letterkenny court house.
A 22-year-old woman has appeared in court on 13 charges relating to alleged money laundering,
Tiwalde Yusuff, with man address at Sommerfield, Castlebar, County Mayo, was before Letterkenny District Court.
Detective Garda Peter Cullen gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of Yusuff.
Yusuff made no reply when any of the charges were read to her.
Sergeant Jim Collins told Judge Deirdre Gearty that the Director of Public Prosecutions has directed prosecution on indictment.
There were no Garda objections to bail.
Judge Gearty granted bail in the accused’s own bond of €500 in cash. An independent surety of €1000 in cash was sought. The surety, provided by a family member who accompanied the accused to court, was approved by Gardai.
The court heard that Yusuff works in London and will be off on maternity leave soon. Legal aid was granted to solicitor, Ms Maureen Gallagher.
Yusuff is to remain contactable via mobile phone 24/7 on a number provided to Gardai and is to commit no further offence and be of good behaviour.
The matter was adjourned until May 21 next for the service of a book of evidence.
