Chief Superintendent Aidan Glacken takes over Donegal  Division

The Chief Superintendent Aidan Glacken, who is the Chief Superintendent for Sligo and Leitrim will now have responsibility for the Donegal Division.

He takes over from the former Chief Superintendent, Terry McGinn, who retired in recent weeks.

The Chief Superintendent's father also served as a sergeant in Sligo during the 1970's.

A statement from the Garda Press Office reads: "Chief Superintendent Aidan Glacken, is the Chief Superintendent for Sligo/Leitrim and has now responsibility for Donegal Division."
