Patrick Joseph O'Connell, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Patrick Joseph O'Connell, known as PJ, Abbey Lane, Ballyshannon. He passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his caring family.

Predeceased by his brother Liam and sisters Sal and Celine. PJ will be forever remembered by his wife Deirdre, sons Paul, Liam, Pádraic and Feargal and daughters-in-law Erna, Sharon, Maaike and Liesl. Much loved by his grandchildren Tasha, Maya, Peter, Joe, Katie, Niamh, Aoife, Caolan, Molly and Finn. He will be sadly missed by his brother Frank, sisters-in-law Breda and Joan and brothers-in-law Tom and Brian.

Reposing at his late residence on Monday, January 30 from 2pm to 4pm. House private at all other times. Removal from this late residence on Tuesday at 11.30am to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon with interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery.

Donations in lieu of flowers to the Northwest Hospice, The Mall, Sligo c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors, Ballyshannon or any family member.

Sally Mc Bride, Derrybeg


The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Sally Mc Bride, Carrickataskin, Derrybeg.

Predeceased by her sisters Mary and Margaret and brothers Bernard, Joseph, Patrick, Jimmy, Owenie and Peter.

Sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Annie Mc Bride and Kathleen Mc Bride, nieces, nephews and dear friend Johnie Hanlon.

Removal from The Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny on Monday, January 30 to Roarty's Funeral Home, Derrybeg, F92DN4X.

Her remains will repose there from 3pm to 8pm, with Rosary at 8pm and again on Tuesday from 2pm to 6.30pm. Removal afterwards to St Mary's Church, Derrybeg for 7pm to repose overnight. Funeral Mass on Wednesday,  February 1 at 11am, with interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

John Daly, Derry and Newtowncunningham

The death has taken place at Altnagalvin Hospital of John Daly, 22 Northland Crescent, Derry, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Nellie, daughter Cecilia, son Roddy and grandson Michael. Survived by his sons Thomas (Derry), Michael (Newtowncunningham), John (Manchester), Josephine (Derry) and Eugene (Derry). Deeply regretted by extended family, neighbours & friends.

John's remains will repose at his son Michael's residence, 4 Moyle View, Newtowncunningham, F93W4C6, from 7pm, Sunday, January 29. Funeral Mass in St Eugene's Cathedral, Derry, on Tuesday, January 31 at 10am, followed by burial in the City Cemetery. Cornelius Carr, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Cornelius (Corny/Harry) Carr Lurganboy, Donegal Town, at North West Hospice surrounded by his loving family, wife Eileen, daughter Nora and son Cormac. Predeceased by his parents Nora and Joe Carr. Sadly, missed by his son Barry, brothers PJ(Jayne) and Michael and his sister Carol. Forever remembered by his extended family, his neighbours and his many friends.

Remains will repose at his late residence at Lurganboy, Donegal Town F94T2T0 on Sunday, January 29 from 5pm  until 9pm and from 11am until 10pm on Monday. R

emains will leave his home on Tuesday at 10.10am for 11am Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town, with burial immediately afterwards in Clar Graveyard.

Pat McGee, Falcarragh

The death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice of Pat McGee, Ballintemple, Falcarragh, F92 KH98.

Sadly missed by his loving Sisters, Eva and Sorcha, His Brothers John, Billy, and Dominick, and extended Family and friends.

His remains are reposing at his late residence, with Rosary on Sunday and Monday at 8pm. House private after the Rosary until 12pm the next day, and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 31 at 11am in St Fionan’s Church, Falcarragh with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Dermot Donohue, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Dermot Donohue 73 Ballymacool Wood, Letterkenny, Donegal, F92 P3F2.

He passed away peacefully, in the gentle care of the staff in the Donegal Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by parents Roseleen and Jerry. Survived by his wife Rosemarie, daughter Eva, sons Rory, Julian and Christopher, daughter-in-law Amanda, son in Law, Joe, grandson Harry, sister, brothers, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Dermot's remains will repose at his late residence from 12 noon on Sunday, Januray 29. Funeral from there on Tuesday morning for requiem Mass at 11am in St Eunan's Cathedral, Letterkenny, followed by cremation in Lakeland's Crematorium, County Cavan, at 3.30pm.

House private 10pm to 12 noon and morning of funeral.

Hugh Carney, Rathmullan

The death has taken place in Larbert, Scotland, of Hugh Carney, Craig, Rathmullan. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, Cathy, daughter Claire, sons Christopher, Gerard and Paul, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends, sisters Kathleen Smith, (York), Breid McGarvey, (Rathmullen) and Anne Moy, (Glenfinn). Pre-deceased by his son Derek, brothers Tommy and Paddy and his parents Tommy and Brigid Carney.

Hugh's funeral Mass will take place in Larbert RC Chapel at 10am on Wednesday, February 8 with interment afterwards in the local Cemetery.

Andrew McLaughlin, Moville and Maghera

The death has occurred of Andrew McLaughlin, 149 Glen Rd, Maghera, Co Derry BT46 5JN and formerly of Moville, Co Donegal.
Beloved husband of Mary (nee Gallagher) and devoted father of Caoimhe. Son of the late Charlie and Peggy and brother of Sadie Travers, Margaret Cavanagh, Michael Gerard, Annemarie, Therese Lynch, Eamon, Caroline Irwin and Josephine O'Connor. 

Deeply regretted by sorrowing wife, daughter, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and wider family circle. Funeral arrangements later.

Mick Dunleavey, Letterkenny

The Death has occurred of Mick Dunleavey, 18 Wolfe Tone Place, Glencar, Letterkenny, F92 E94C.

Reposing at his late residence on Saturday, January 28 from 6pm to 10pm and on Sunday from 11am to 10pm with Rosary both nights 9pm.

Bridget Boyle, Dungloe and formerly of New York

The death has taken place at Cavan General Hospital of Bridget Boyle, (neé Bonner), Derrydruel, Dungloe, Donegal and formerly of New York.

Predeceased by her sons James and Pat (New York). Sadly missed by her heartbroken husband Denis, her daughters; Sally Madden (The Green, Loch Gowna), Ann Delaney (New York), her brothers; James and John Bonner(Dungloe), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law, extended family, many neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, H12 RF78, on Saturday, January 28 from 5pm to 7pm. Arriving to McGlynn's Funeral Home, Dungloe F94 ND68, for reposal from 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, January 29.

Funeral Mass at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Meenacross F94 PR90, at 11am on Monday, January 30 followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan H12 RF78.

Neil Doran, Newtowncunningham

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of Neil Doran, 23 Colehill Park, Newtowncunningham and formerly of Veagh, Manorcunningham.

Beloved husband of Annie, and much-loved father of Annette, Sharon, Rowena, Liam, Gary, Niall and Gavin. Neil will be deeply missed and remembered with love by his daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at his late residence from 6pm on Saturday, January 28.

Funeral leaving from there on Monday, January 30 at 10.30am for 11am Requiem Mass in All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Newtoncunningham Community First Responders care of any family member or Terence McClintock, funeral director Convoy.

House private please from 10pm to 10am and on the morning of the funeral.

Frances Deborah McDaid, Killyverry

The death has taken place at Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry of Frances Deborah (Dora) McDaid, formerly of Killyverry, Co Donegal.

Beloved wife of the late Patrick Burke, loving mother of Rosemarie, Veronica, Bernadette and Marcus and a much-loved grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, Co Derry, BT47 3PU, on Monday evening from 7pm to 9 pm.

Dora’s funeral service will take place there on Tuesday at 5pm. Cremation will take place on Wednesday in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 1 pm. Family flowers only please.

Kathleen Moloney, Buncrana

The death has occurred at Crunleigh House, Carndonagh, surrounded by her family of Kathleen Maloney, formerly of 6 Castle Park, Buncrana. Kathleen is predeceased by her parents Nicholas, Sadie and her sisters Lena and Mary. Kathleen will be missed by her family Eileen, Nicholas, Paddy, Martin, her sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and the wider family circle.

Kathleen’s remains are reposing at her brother Martin and Elizabeth’s Home at 1 Riverside, Cockhill Road, Buncrana.

Funeral on Tuesday leaving at 10.20 am for 11am requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Cockhill with Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Funeral can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/cockhill.


Hugh Browne, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Covan Road, Glasgow, of Hugh Browne, Glasgow, and formerly Tievclougher, Ballybofey. Beloved husband of Anna and much-loved father to Amanda, Sarah, Laura, Sheila, and Hugh, cherished brother of Laurence, Tim, John, Ann and Nell. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife, son, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at Mc Cool’s Chapel of Rest, Ballybofey, on Saturday, January 28 and on Sunday, January 29 from 6pm until rosary at 9pm. Funeral leaving from there on Monday at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill at 11am. Interment in the adjoining churchyard. Frances Bonner, Convoy

The death has occurred of Frances Bonner, Salford, Lancashire, England and formerly of Mullanard, Convoy. Frances will be deeply missed and treasured with love by her son Andrew, twin sister Ruby and brother Shannon, also her dear friends Rita and Ernie. Predeceased by her loving partner Geoff.

Her remains are reposing at Terence McClintock’s Funeral Home, Ballyboe, Convoy. Family and friends are welcome there on Sunday, January 29 from 3pm to 6pm. Private at all other times please.

Lauri MacMahon, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Lauri MacMahon, Station House, Donegal Road, Ballyshannon. He passed away Peacefully at Sligo University Hospital on January 26, 2023. Deeply regretted by his devoted wife Mary (O'Donnell). Sorely missed by his sons Michael and Kenneth, daughters Caroline, and Ursula, son in-law Tim, daughters In-law Jackie and Mel, grandchildren Ellen, Ros, Bobby, Charlotte, and Abi, sisters Eithne, Eimer, and Joan, nephews, nieces, and extended MacMahon and O'Donnell, families.

Reposing at the family home on Sunday from 2pm until 6pm, walk-through only. House private at all other times. Funeral from there on Monday for requiem Mass in St Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon at 11am followed by private cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Keith Boyle, Letterkenny

The unexpected death has occurred of Keith Boyle Derryveagh Avenue, Letterkenny. Predeceased by granny Bernadette.

Loved and missed By his mother Sharon, Fiance Jasmine, sons Riley and Jaxon. Fondly remembered by sister Sineeta, brother Jordan, grandad John, brother-in-law Krystian and nephew Józef. Always remembered by his aunties, uncles, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Removal on Saturday, January 28 from Eternal Light Chapel of Rest Mountain Top, Letterkenny at 10.30am going to his late residence.

Dominick Coyle, Cranford

The sudden death has taken place of Dominick Coyle, Coole, Cranford.

Remains will repose at his home from 6pm on Saturday, January 28. Funeral Mass on Monday at 1pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coole, Cranford with burial afterwards in Milford Cemetery. Rosary on Saturday and Sunday night at 9pm.

Hugo Quirke, Urris and Dunree

The peaceful death has taken place in Manchester at his home of Hugo Quirke, formerly of Urris and Dunree and more recently Bury, Manchester. Surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly loved husband of the late Brigid Quirke (nee Gillespie of Leophin, Linsfort) much-loved father of Hugh, Denis, Elaine, Gary and Sinead. Adored Pop, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to so many.

Funeral to be held in Manchester. Date to be confirmed.

Cathal Brugha Mac Devitt, Navan and Kilcar

The death has occurred peacefully in his 90th year of retired school principal Cathal Brugha Mac Devitt, Moatville, Navan, Meath and late of Kilcar.

Predeceased by his brothers Kevin and Ruairí and sister Delma; dearly loved husband of Mary and father of Sinéad, Rory, Conal, Niamh, Eimear and Aedín; sadly missed by his grandchildren Conor, Kieran, Finn, Éva, Kate, Cormac, Eoin, Ella and Pearse; great grandson Hector; sisters Sr Eithne, Sìle, Nuala and Crona; brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

His remains are reposing at the Fitzsimons Funeral Home, Canon Row, Navan on Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm. House private please.

Removal on Monday morning to St Mary's Church, Navan, for 12 noon Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in St Finian's Cemetery. The Funeral Mass may be viewed on navanparish.ie. Family flowers only.
