Death notices for Donegal on Friday morning

The following deaths have taken place:

- Connell Russell, Kilmacernnan

- Elizabeth Clarke, Laghey

- Charles Coll, London and Dunfanaghy

Connell Russell, Kilmacernnan

The death has taken place peacefully, in Ramelton Community Hospital of Connell Russell, Tawney, Kilmacrennan.

Deeply regretted by his brother Eddie, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, he is predeceased by his sisters Martha, May, Sarah and Madge and his brothers Jimmy, Johnny, Kevin and Patsy.

His remains are reposing at the residence of his niece Josephine Russell and Peter O’Donnell, Drumaboden, Kilmacrennan, F92 E3H6, from 3pm on Friday.

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11am in St, Columba’s Church, Kilmacrennan with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed on Church Services TV St Columba’s Church Kilmacrennan. 

Family flowers only, donations if desired to Ramelton Community Hospital Patients’ Comfort Fund, c/o any family member.

Teddy Mc Glinchey, Newtowncunningham

The death has taken place of Teddy McGlinchey, 486 Colehill Park, Newtowncunningham, Donegal, F93 RYN1. He passed away peacefully in the caring hands of the staff in Saint Joseph's Hospital Stranorlar.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Majella and baby granddaughter Jane; loving father to Marie, Pauline, Shaun, sons-in-law and daughter-in-law; fondly remembered by his brother Fintan and sister Bridie, 10 cherished grandchildren, extended family members, good neighbors and many friends.

Teddy's remains are reposing at his late residence from 1pm on Friday. Family time please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral from there on Sunday morning for Requiem Mass in All Saints Church Newtoncunnigham at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. 

Rose Cannon, Kilcar

The peaceful death has occurred of Rose Cannon, Roxborough, Kilcar. She passed away in her 95th year at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her dear husband Maurice and son Seamus, Rose will be sadly missed by her son Neilly, daughter Linda and sister Bridie Neil, daughters-in-law Geraldine and Fiona and son-in-law Jarlath. She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Martina (Clement), James, Katie, Rosaleen, Maurice and her great grandsons Séimí and Danny.

Rose's remains are reposing at her late residence with Rosary at 9pm.

Removal from her home on Saturday morning for funeral Mass in St Cartha’s Church, Kilcar at 12noon. Burial will take place afterwards in the local cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to Carrick Day Centre care of any family member or Mc Shane Funeral Directors.

Eddie Griffin, Rosnakill

The death has taken place of Eddie Griffin, Aughadreena, Rossnakill, Fanad.

Deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents John and Clare, loving sister and brother, Erin and Sean, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and his many friends.

His remains are reposing at his late residence. House private please.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in St Columba’s Church, Massmount. Burial will take place afterwards in Massmount Cemetery. Mass can be viewed on Patrick Sweeney Funeral Directors’ Facebook Page.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Pieta House, c/o any family member.

Elizabeth Clarke, Laghey

The death has taken place of Elizabeth Caroline Clarke, Bellview, Lisnapaste, Laghey, F94 K8N2. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, George and Caroline. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her brother George, (Margaret) Gerard, Aisling and Conor, brother William, sister Priscilla (Mary) and brother Sam, her extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Elizabeth will repose at her home from 6pm to 10pm on Thursday, November 20 and on Friday from 1pm to 10pm.

The funeral service will be held at her home on Saturday at 1pm, followed by burial afterwards in Drumholm graveyard, Ballintra.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust, (SHOUT) care of any family member or Terence McClintock Funeral Directors.

Thomas Carr, Barnesmore

The death has occurred of Thomas Carr, Milltown, Barnesmore, Donegal, F94E3HC.

His death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Mary and his five brothers Frank, Eddie, Laurence, Peter and Gerard.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Anna and his children Deirdre (Domnick), Marie (Cillian), Shane (Emer), Joel (Tara), Bridgeen (Michael), Emer (Gary) and his adoring thirteen Grandchildren, his sisters Mary (Pearse RIP) and Annie (Peter) brothers Joseph (Mary), Patrick (Alice), extended family, neighbours and friends.

Thomas was a devoted husband and a proud family man and he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and kindness.

Reposing at his residence on Thursday and Friday from 3pm to 9pm. Rosary at 9pm. Removal to St Agatha’s Church, Clar on Saturday for 11am funeral Mass followed by burial afterwards at St Agatha’s Cemetery, Clar. House private on the morning of the funeral.

Robert Martin, Derry city and Moville

The death has occurred of Robert (Bobby) Martin, formerly of Troy Park, Derry, beloved son of the late Agatha and Joe (Moville), loving brother of Don and the late Joe, cherished brother-in-law of Martha and a much-loved uncle and cousin.

Hen passed away peacefully at Rush Hall Care Home, Limavady.

Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, on Friday, November 21 from 5pm to 6 pm.

Bobby will then be removed from there to repose overnight in St Pius Church, Moville. Requiem Mass will be celebrated there on Saturday at 10am. Interment afterwards in Ballybrack cemetery.

Tom Diver, Ardara

The peaceful death has occurred of Tom Diver, Drimaha, Ardara.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Mary B, his sons Damian and David; his daughters Maria and Grainne; his sisters Mary, Philomena, Greta and brothers-in-law Bartley, Charlie and Jonny D; his brother Columba and sister-in-law Margaret.

He will be sadly missed by his son and daughters-in-law, as well as his six grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended family, neighbours and friends in the beautiful community of Ardara.

Family only on the morning of Friday, with funeral Mass at 12noon in the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara with burial afterward in the adjoining Cemetery.

Charles Coll, London and Dunfanaghy

The death has taken place in Ealing, London of Charles Coll, formerly of Parkmore, Marble Hill, Dunfanaghy.

Sadly missed by his wife Nora, sons Anthony and Martin, grandchildren Emma, Zoe, Hayley, Keiran and Callum.

Charles’ remains will arrive at St Michael`s Church Creeslough on Thursday, November 20, at 8:30pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass there on Friday at 11.00 am. Burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed online here.
