Donegal Gardaí warn against use of illegal fireworks this Halloween

Donegal Gardaí are urging the public to report incidents involving the use or sale of fireworks this Halloween
An Garda Síochána Donegal are urging members of the public to act responsibly this Halloween weekend.
Gardaí have warned against the use and sale of illegal fireworks that can result in serious injuries and criminal penalties.
Igniting an illegal firework in any place, throwing an ignited firework at a person or property, and possession of illegal fireworks with the intent to sell or supply can lead to up to a €10,000 fine and five years' imprisonment.
Members of the public are asked to contact their local Garda station to report any incidents involving the use or sale of illegal fireworks.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána Donegal said: “Do not take the risk this Halloween or in the run-up to it. Don't risk your own safety, the safety of others, and don't risk getting a criminal record.
“Fireworks are illegal, and they are the cause of many injuries every year. Please act responsibly and alert Gardaí if you come across the use of or the sale of fireworks.”
