Two former students have decided to undertake a climb to fundraise for Carrick National School.

Michael McGill and Brian Ó Gallachóir will climb Morocco’s Jbel Toubkal, which has the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains and North Africa, standing at 4,167 metres tall.

Michael and Brian are currently training to undertake the challenge. They will fly out to Marrakech on Monday, October 13. Then, on Wednesday, October 15, they will begin the two-day trek to the summit and hope to arrive the following day.

The funds raised at Climb for Carrick school will go, “to support much-needed improvements and resources, benefiting both the students and the school community,” Organiser Melanie said. “Michael and Brian would like to thank everyone in advance for their support and generosity. Every donation, big or small, will make a big difference to the school.”
