Donegal Town Mayor Anna Gallagher joined Mary Meehan in Mountcharles for the cheque presentations
A fundraising coffee morning, which coincided with a south Donegal woman's 105th birthday celebrations, raised €2,000 apiece for Donegal Hospice and Donegal Community Hospital.
Mary Meehan, from Glencoagh, Mountcharles, turned 105 in October and visited Harvey's Point with family and friends before the fundraising event was held at St Patrick's Parish Centre in Donegal Town, where attendees were encouraged to join in honouring Mary’s life with "joy, cake, and community spirit."

Donegal Town Mayor Anna Gallagher said this week: "I visited Mary in her beautiful home in Mountcharles, I felt truly humbled and honoured to share moments like this! Mary and her wonderful family have shown incredible generosity by donating €2,000 to Donegal Hospice and Donegal Community Hospital.

"Mary's family asked me to pass on their heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped celebrate her special day. Massive thanks to all the volunteers and St Patrick's Parish Centre, Donegal Town."
