Four Masters GAA pitch was vandalised on Sunday night.
The incident involved cars driving in circles at the club’s main pitch at Tír Chonaill Pairc in Donegal Town. The act of vandalism was caught on CCTV and the club has now encouraged the culprits to come forward before the footage is passed on to gardaí.
The club has described the vandalism as “absolutely unacceptable” and a “huge set back” for those who use the grounds.
Four Masters GAA and LGFA Club shared: “On Sunday night last, Feb 1, vandals took it upon themselves to open the gate onto our main pitch and drive their car around in circles causing damage.
“It was very disappointing for our grounds men to see the destruction that was done to the pitch, at a time when we are working hard to repair it after the winter. This type of behaviour is absolutely unacceptable and it is disappointing that this has happened in our community. Our club caters for over 40 teams, and a set back like this affects all.”

They continued: “CCTV from neighbouring houses have caught the registration details of the car and we are aware of people who heard and saw a car at Tír Chonaill Pairc on Sunday night. We encourage those responsible to come forward otherwise we will be forced to pass on the video footage to An Garda Síochána Donegal to deal with.
“Anyone who has any further information should contact a member of our executive.”
