Donegal Motorcycle Action Group continues annual toy run

The Donegal Motorcycle Action Group recently held its annual toy run to benefit Donegal Women's Domestic Violence Service.

Despite the recession the country faces and the very frosty weather that has blanketed Donegal for much of December, the group made its annual delivery of toys to the service's offices. But the recent freeze meant that this year action group members had to leave their bikes behind on the day, travelling instead in four-wheeled transport.

The action group's work ensures each year that children of families who access the services of Donegal Women's Domestic Violence Service will receive a gift at the holiday season. These gifts ease the burden on the mothers and make Christmas a little brighter for those families who are experiencing domestic abuse.

The Donegal Women's Domestic Violence Service are extremely grateful to all those involved in the annual effort and also wanted to thank Wesley Moore, who co-ordinates this yearly project. The Donegal service also offered a special thanks to the Glencar Inn and the Friar's Rest in Letterkenny, who provide soup and sandwiches for everyone who attends.
