Building funds for Scoil Mhuire Buncrana
The Dept. of Education has allocated funding to Scoil Mhuire Buncrana for three new classrooms, one learning support room and a computer room. Senator Cecilia Keaveney, Government Spokesperson on Education, welcomed the news: "I am delighted that funding has been made available to Scoil Mhuire to replace the temporary accommodation with permanent structures. They have been providing evidence of their current and projected needs over the years and this has been a long time evolving to the stage that it has now reached. I was made aware again of the very serious concerns that everyone had in respect of the pre-fabs and made further representations on their case. This funding of bricks and mortar, will provide the school with a better environment for learning which I know from speaking with students, parents and staff will be a crucial addition to the school," she said.
